Multimedia is a broad area, encompassing everything from video production and animation to web development and maintenance. Classroom Experience

When it comes to digital media, immersing yourself in what you are learning is key. That’s why our classes offer detailed instruction in the latest software used by the industry, top-of-the-line computer labs for you to practice in and internships around the South Florida area. Some of the topics covered in Digital Media/Multimedia Technology include:

  • Digital Video and Audio

Much of the curriculum relies on software. We will teach you how to use:

  • Flash

  • Fianl Cut Pro
  • Premiere Pro
  • Illustrator

  • Dreamweaver

Career Path

In South Florida, there are several opportunities for job gro​wth as a multimedia specialist. Several local TV stations, production houses, advertising and marketing firms require skilled personnel to assist with web development and maintenance, multimedia production and 2D/3D animation.

Is This Program Right for Me?

Digital media is constantly evolving, and requires a certain degree of flexibility and continuing education as new software, techniques and practices emerge. The traits of success we like to see in our students include:

  • Organization skills
  • Passionate creativity 
  •  A willingness to continue learning
  • An “outside-the-box” approach to creation
  • Comfortable sitting in front of the computer for hours


Faculty members in the Digital Media/Multimedia Technology​ program include industry professionals who bring their real-world experience to the classroom. Your instructors include graduates from (name two to three post-secondary institutions attended by faculty), and former employees of (list two to three well-known companies faculty has worked for).



The Multimedia A.S. program consists of 64 credits and takes two years, or 24 months, to complete. The two Digital Media and Multimedia Technical Certificates can be completed in one to two semesters if you enroll full time.


When will a BA in Multimedia be offered?
Broward College does not currently have a BA program for Multimedia. However, faculty and the administration are currently working on making it a possibility in the future.

Is there a gaming degree? Is there a certificate in gaming?
There is no gaming degree or certificate available through Broward College at this time.
Is there a motion capturing class?
The Multimedia program does not currently have a motion capturing class.
Does the Multimedia program have classes that teach green screen?

 Yes, the program includes learning how to use green screens.
